Import slides from Google Slides / Keynote / PowerPoint into Studio

Use this guide to learn how to import slides from your preferred presentation software into Studio.

You must be on 2.6.0 or above to import slides into Studio. Importing files does not work with previous versions.
Note: This page is about Studio. For information about mmhmm, read Import slides from Google Slides / Keynote / PowerPoint into mmhmm .

Import your deck from PowerPoint, Keynote, or as a PDF

You can import your deck to Studio by dragging and dropping your PowerPoint, Keynote, or PDF deck onto the Studio window.

Note: Google Slides presentations can be imported into Studio by first downloading them as a PowerPoint or PDF. To share Google Slides presentations natively, read Use a screen share slide

You can import your deck to Studio by dragging and dropping your PowerPoint, Keynote, or PDF deck into the slide tray at the bottom of the Studio window.

Note: There is a 250MB file size limit on imported files. In Studio, import is available only on macOS 10.15 (Catalina) and higher.

Your presentation will be uploaded to the mmhmm server, converted into an mmhmm Studio presentation, and open in a new Studio tab. The process may take a few moments, depending on the size of your deck.

Use a Studio screen share slide

Keynote, PowerPoint, and Google Slides have a feature called "present to window" that makes it significantly easier to share the contents of a presentation. This feature also hides the toolbars and presenter notes from your audience. In any of these programs, present your slide deck to a new window, then use an mmhmm screen share slide to select that window to show.

Here's how to set up "present to window" in several presentation software platforms:

Google Slides

Click Slideshow on the top right-hand side of the window.

Click the vertical ellipsis button and select Exit full screen. This will present your slide deck in a new window.

Then, create a mmhmm screen share slide to share your Google Slides presentation slides.

Keynote

Click Play in the menu bar on the top of the screen and select In Window. This will present your slide deck in a new window.

Then, create a mmhmm screen share slide to share your Keynote presentation slides.

PowerPoint

Open the PowerPoint file and then go to Slide Show > Set Up Slide Show.

Select Browse by an individual (window). Then click OK.

Start the presentation. You should see the presentation starting on a window instead of full screen.

Once "present to window" is set up, create a screen share slide to share your presentation slides.

Export your slides as images

To import slides into Studio from another service, you must first export your slides as images.

Once you've exported the slides as images, unzip them. Then, upload them as slides in Studio.
