Once you've familiarized yourself with the Studio interface, it's time to use it to create presentations. This article contains a few tips to get you started.
Aspect ratios of your slides
- Content on 16:9 slides requires you to shrink or drag yourself to the side in order to make room. That's why we find slides with a 1:1 ratio to work best with over-the-shoulder. Vertically oriented slides work great here too.
- If you do use a 16:9 slide, try making it full screen and lowering your video opacity to let the slide fill your audience's screen while also being able to see you.
- For instance, an image sized at 1920 x 1080 pixels has an aspect ratio of 16:9, and an image sized at 1280 x 720 pixels also has a ratio of 16:9. 1080 x 1080 pixels have a 1:1 ratio.
- We recommend larger image sizes to ensure a clear slide for your audience.
Mirror your Apple device to Studio
Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer with a lightning cable and it will become selectable when you add a new screen share slide. This is a handy way to quickly give a demo or show content that's on your phone. Learn more about mirroring your device.
Use shortcuts
Use shortcuts to keep you focused on presenting, not on navigating the interface.
Go beyond the static slide
Adding moving images, such as .gif or .mp4 files, as slides or backgrounds can add visual intrigue to your content. Experiment with movie files to add some movement and life to your presentation.
Do this by clicking the New Slide button, then select Media to import your images and videos.
Crop your webcam
If you're having trouble filling your frame with your physical green screen, you can use to built-in zoom to crop your webcam feed so that the exposed portions of your background are clipped out. Even if you don't have a green screen, this is a great feature to take up more of the available space. Read Green screen best practices to learn more about green screens.
